Fiona Wong was born in Eugene, Oregon, and lived her formative years in Canada. Opting for an M.S. in Computer Science at UC Davis over an M.F.A., she remained devoted to her passions for drawing, writing, and singing. Fiona writes stories that celebrate community and how we connect, share, and care for the world through culture, curiosity, and stewardship. She also enjoys writing engaging STEAM books, recognizing their importance in today's digitally driven world. She resides in Los Angeles with husband and two kids.

Her forthcoming picture book debut, Hungry Ghosts!, illustrated by Yan Gu, will publish with Chronicle in 2028.
