Jacob Wren makes literature, collaborative performances and exhibitions. His books include Polyamorous Love Song (a finalist for the 2013 Fence Modern Prize in Prose and one of The Globe and Mail’s 100 best books of 2014), Rich and Poor (a finalist for the 2016 QWF Paragraphe Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction and one of The Globe and Mail’s 100 best books of 2016), Authenticity is a Feeling and Dry Your Tears to Perfect Your Aim (a finalist for the 2024 Paragraphe Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction and for the 2024 Big Other Book Award for Fiction.) As artistic codirector of the interdisciplinary group PME-ART he has co-created performances such as: En français comme en anglais, it's easy to criticize, Individualism Was A Mistake, The DJ Who Gave Too Much Information, Every Song I’ve Ever Written, A User's Guide to Authenticity Is a Feeling and Adventures can be found anywhere, même dans la répétition. International collaborations include: a stage adaptation of the Wolfgang Koeppen novel Der Tod in Rom (Sophiensaele, Berlin), An Anthology of Optimism (co-created with Pieter De Buysser/Campo, Ghent), Big Brother Where Art Thou? (a project entirely on Facebook co-created with Lene Berg/OFFTA) and No Double Life For The Wicked (co-created with Tori Kudo/The Museum of Art, Kochi, Japan.) He is co-founder of the orchestra The Air Contains Honey whose first album is forthcoming in 2026. His internet presence is often defined by a fondness for quotations.
