Kate Hosford’s picture books include A Songbird Dreams of Singing: Poems about Sleeping Animals (illustrated by Jennifer Potter) as well as Big Bouffant, Big Birthday, Infinity and Me, Feeding the Flying Fanellis and Other Poems from a Circus Chef, How the Queen Found the Perfect Cup of Tea and Mama’s Belly. Kate graduated from Amherst College with a degree in English and Philosophy, and before becoming an author, she worked as an elementary school teacher, a foster care worker, and an illustrator. In 2011, she received her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Kate lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and two sons.
