Lester L. Laminack is Professor Emeritus at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina as well as a full-time writer and much sought-after consultant working with schools throughout the United States. He is the author of more than a dozen professional books for teachers, and eight award-winning picture books, including, most recently Three Hens, a Peacock and The Enormous Egg, illustrated by Henry Cole (Peachtree). He lives in North Carolina where he loves taking drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway and along the two-lane roads in the countryside.
