Originally from Austin, TX, Sophia moved to New York City to obtain her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from NYU Stern. While there, she accidentally picked up a major in Spanish Literature out of sheer love for Don Quijote. She worked at various marketing agencies before landing for three years at a management consulting firm. A voracious reader her whole life, she was unable to resist the allure of working with books, and decided to pivot to publishing. She completed the Writers House Internship Program in 2025 and came to HG Literary in 2026. When she’s not reading, you can likely find Sophia in a dance class practicing vogue, waacking, house, or salsa.
