Victoria Jane Wells (formerly Arms) began her publishing career as an editor at Dial and Putnam Books for Young Readers, and was founding Editorial Director at Bloomsbury USA Children's Books. She started her own literary agency, Wells Arms Literary in 2013, which was thrilled to join HG Literary in 2018.
Victoria represents bestselling and award-winning authors of children's books for all ages, a few adult authors, and many talented picture book illustrators. Her clients include Charlotte Agell, E. D. Baker, Chris Barton, Miya T. Beck, Nora Shalaway Carpenter, Gail Donovan, Crescent Dragonwagon, David Macinnis Gill, Ben Gundersheimer, Michael Hall, Kate Hosford, Jamie Michalak, Sandra Nickel, Han Nolan, Sonia Patel, Marcella Pixley, Candice Ransom, Lizzy Rockwell, Susan L. Roth, Mitali Banerjee Ruths, Lauren Stringer, Emma Virjàn, and many more. She also represents many clients formerly with the (now retired) Edite Kroll including the Estates of Shel Silverstein, Charlotte Zolotow, MB Goffstein, and Fatema Mernissi.
Victoria has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and is a member of the AALA, PEN America, and SCBWI.
